A salute to Salifou

He was billed as the Togloese Zidane, but Moustapha Salifou has found it difficult to break into the Villa team.
The midfielder has endured an arduous first season at the club and been forced to linger in the Reserves.
Salifou has only managed to make a couple of fleeting substitute appearances in the first team with his fitness being blamed for his inability to break into the starting XI.
But Salifou is not one to complain.
He has reiterated his desire to make it at Villa and said he is more than willing to be patient as he searches for that elusive first start.
Salifou's attitude is a reminder that there is some loyalty left in the game and that there are some footballers who are prepared to wait.
The former Brest man could just get his chance soon as Villa are suffering constant injury and suspension problems and have very little back-up.
Salifou deserves his chance to prove himself. After all he's waited long enough for it.
