Collymore ready for Germany clash

Last updated : 16 July 2008 By Tom Vickers

Stan Collymore is ready to take on the Germans.
The former Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Villa striker has been selected by Peter Reid for the Legends game at Bramall Lane on August 7th 2008.
The stadium, home to Sheffield United, will welcome former pros such as Brian Deane and Des Walker for the fixture.
England will be looking to gain revenge for the 4-2 defeat suffered against Germany at Reading in 2006.
Reid has put his faith in Collymore; a player who he believes can make the difference.
"In Stan Collymore, I have a player with power, pace and a massive will to win.
Scotland didn't know what to do with him at Southampton, he scored one and could have easily had a hat-trick," said the temporary England manager.
"I really feel that in adding a player of Stan's calibre, I have sent a message out to Germany that this is a game we're aiming to win."
Reid has every reason to be confident of victory after over Scotland in May. He added: "I think we'll have a far better squad this time around. I know Germany are going to be a different proposition to Scotland but, with a decent Sheffield crowd behind us, I think we can do it."
If you want to see if Stan has still got what it takes, the game will be broadcast live on Thursday 7th August on ITV4.
