Manchester United Aiming to 'Execute' Mega Money Move for Jack Grealish By the End of the Month

Manchester United will apparently step up their interest in signing Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish, with the club looking to iron out details over the transfer this month.

The 24-year-old has spent his entire life at Villa Park both as a player and a fan, but Grealish's future beyond this season appears to be away from his boyhood club, with Aston Villa battling relegation alongside Watford and West Ham.

United are among a group of Premier League sides who are interested in signing Grealish at the end of the season, and the Manchester Evening News reports the club will look to wrap up the deal before the end of the month.

Although Grealish can't join Manchester United until the transfer window opens this summer, Ole Gunnar Solskajer's side apparently want to finalise as much of the deal as possible in February.

The MEN's report even states that there's a £45m release clause in Grealish's contract in the West Midlands, meaning United can simply bypass negotiations with Aston Villa and start talking about personal terms with the player.

Even after getting a deal over the line for Bruno Fernandes in January, it appears Manchester United are still desperate to add more creativity to their midfield - perhaps with one eye on Paul Pogba's future, which increasingly looks set to be away from Old Trafford.

Grealish has also impressed playing on the left-wing at times this season which would bring a lot more versatility to United's first-team squad, although both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would still be ahead of Grealish in the pecking order for that position.

Grealish has previously been a target for Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to sign the midfielder in 2018 after submitting a £25m bid.

The 24-year-old has been one of the most impressive players in the Premier League this season and could even be in with a chance of making Gareth Southgate's squad for Euro 2020, despite only ever representing England at Under-21 level.
