Davis targets return to form

Both Davis and Hughes have found themselves out of favour with at Villa Park this season and it is now seven games since they started a game together. The loan signing of Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley has seen Hughes drop out of the first-team picture altogether, failing to even make the bench on Saturday while Davis has regularly had to settle for a place outside the starting XI, but he believes both have the quality to bounce back. "Aaron has dropped out of the team in the last few weeks, but it won't be long before he is back to the player that he was," Davis told the Belfast Telegraph. "I have no doubt that Aaron is a Premiership quality player and he won't be out of the team for long."

Davis
is yet to score for Villa this season but has fond memories of facing Wales. He scored his only international goal to date against the Welsh at Windsor Park in October 2005. "I haven't scored in a while and I think I am due one," Davis continued.
"It would be nice if it was to come against Wales because I remember how good it felt to score against them the last time. Things haven't gone as well at Villa for me this season, but I am working hard to get back into the team. Hopefully a good performance for Northern Ireland will help my confidence."
