Agbonlahor commits future to Villa

The Birmingham-born 27-year-old, who has made more than 300 appearances for Villa, had no hesitation in extending his stay at the club he joined as a youngster.

"It's a great feeling to be signing for Aston Villa," he told AVFC TV.

"It was not a hard decision, for myself and the club it was easy to get it sorted.

"The club has been great to me and the fans have been great through hard times and the last three or four years have been hard times for the club.

"They have stuck by me as a player and hopefully I can pay them back through my performances over the next four years.

"It's a fantastic feeling for me to commit my future to Aston Villa and I'm excited for this season and I'm excited for the next four years."

Agbonlahor made his Premier League debut in March 2006 at the age of 19, scoring in the 4-1 defeat to Everton.

He insists he still feels the same playing for the club today as he did back then.

"It has gone quickly

I can still remember my debut and the past 10 years have gone by crazy quick," he added.

"You still get that buzz of pulling on the Villa shirt, that doesn't go.

"It is still a dream come true for me to sign on for another four years and continue playing for the club I love.

"To be able to contribute for 10 years and hopefully the next four years is of great pride for me."
