Agbonlahor- No issue over withdrawal

The 24-year-old player is also hoping Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier will restore him into his preferred central striking slot rather than using him in a wide role.

"There are a few family matters I had to deal with, but I was disappointed not to go (to Denmark)," said Agbonlahor. "I spoke to them and they are fine with it so I look forward to future squads.

"Of course, I love playing for my country and I think if you ask any of the players who have had to pull out it is not the sort of thing you want to do. But unfortunately these things do happen, you just have to get on with it and report to the next squad. These things happen and you have to pull out, whether it is injuries or in my case family reasons, you have to pull out now and then."

Houllier has used club record signing Darren Bent as his main out-and-out front player since his ?18 million move from Sunderland and Agbonlahor added: "Obviously everyone knows I want to play in that position where Darren is at the moment.

"But it is for the team. We've been looking to get results and different players have been asked to play different positions. So you don't moan, you just get on with it. Maybe sooner or later I'll get the chance to play where I want to play."
