Angel Injury Setback

The Villa striker has contacted a minor infection while undergoing surgery in Colombia although it is thought this will not be not a threat to him beginning pre-season training with the rest of the first team squad in July.

"We did an arthroscopy on his right knee for a possible outer cartilage lesion," said doctor Raul Naranjo.

"We freed the nerve and the first week of recovery doing physiotherapy was problem-free.

"But on the eighth day there was some inflammation - an infection in the rear part of the knee and that's what led to this hospitalisation."
