Edging closer to a move: Ashley Young leaves Bridgewater Hospital after completing his medical

A ?15million deal looks likely with Young intent on joining Sir Alex Ferguson's men and new Villa boss Alex McLeish told by owner Randy Lerner that he cannot stand in the way of the move.

Lerner, pleased that Young stayed at Villa Park last summer rather than try to force his way out by handing in a transfer request, has verbally agreed to let the player join United.
