Aston Villa predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Premier League

Aston Villa will be seeking to consolidate their place in the top half of the Premier League when they welcome Arsenal to Villa Park.

Villa's momentum was halted by West Ham in a 2-1 defeat last weekend, bringing an end to their three-game winning run.

Steven Gerrard's side netted eight goals without reply over that stretch, although they will be wary of becoming complacement with both Southampton and Crystal Palace breathing down their necks in the table.

Here's how the Villains could shape up.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Emiliano Martinez (GK) - Lifted the FA Cup with Arsenal in his eighth season at the club.

Matty Cash (RB) - Has been cautioned eight times this league campaign, which is the joint-most in the Villa squad.

Calum Chambers (CB) - Should be fit to face his former employers after arriving from the Gunners in January.

Tyrone Mings (CB) - Played a huge role in Aston Villa's three clean sheets on the spin before last weekend's defeat.

Ashley Young (LB) - Big boots to fill in trying to replace the injured Lucas Digne.

2. Midfielders

John McGinn (CM) - Could play a slightly more restricted role with doubts over Douglas Luiz's availability.

Jacob Ramsey (CM) - Going from strength to strength this season, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him involved with England in the very near future.

Morgan Sanson (CM) - Hasn't started for Villa since the 2-2 draw with Man Utd in January.

Philippe Coutinho (AM) - Five goals and three assists is a remarkable return for the Brazilian since returning to England.

3. Forwards

Danny Ings (ST) - Has netted just once in Aston Villa colours since 2 January.

Ollie Watkins (ST) - No player has scored more in the Premier League (7) for Villa this season than the former Brentford man.
