Barry saluted born-again Samuel

Samuel has endured a heavy dip in form since his international call-up two years ago but showed glimpses of his old self against the runaway Premiership leaders. The performance in only his eleventh Premiership appearance of the season could go some way to silencing the boo boys in the Holte End, and Barry believes there is more to come. "I think Jlloyd deserves a great deal of credit," the midfielder said. "Once he won a couple of challenges you could see the former confidence returning.

"He's had a spell out of the side but we’ve all been in that position and you just have to wait for your chance and grab it when it comes along. Jlloyd will hope he did that with his performance on Wednesday and hopefully he can build on it for the rest of the season." The 24-year-old is likely to be given another outing against Middlesbrough at the weekend, which coincidentally means that Barry will continue in his preferred midfield role.
