Delaney fears for future

The 30-year-old Welsh defender is out of contract in the summer, and was hoping to earn an extension with a return over Christmas. But a setback means he is unlikely to feature until February and the former shelf stacker fears the worst, saying: "I'm not happy with the knee; maybe it still needs more time. I'm coming to the end of my contract so the timing could not have been worse." The new return date could stretch Delaney's time on the sidelines to a year since he was injured in a FA Cup fifth-round match against Manchester City on 19 February.
