Delaney still not sure of Villa future

The Welsh international full-back was recalled to the starting line-up for the game at Old Trafford last weekend but has admitted to still not having questions answered by Villa boss Graham Taylor.

Delaney feels his place is under threat with the recent arrival of Ronnie Johnsen and wants first team football in order to keep his place in a resurgent Wales side and had a short meeting with Taylor about this last week.

He said: "It was nice to come back not having played for a while and put in a decent performance.

"But I've still not had any questions answered. I was put in the side so things have been brushed under the carpet for the moment. Ronny Johnsen is fit, so we'll see what the manager does.

"I didn't let anybody down at United, I would never do that. I'm confident in my own ability. I had a full season last year, it was a good season and I started well this season.

"I just play for myself and for the lads now because things here have not been answered. I love the club but, mostly, I'm doing this for myself."
