Gareth no go

After recent rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool or Chelsea, the Villa skipper has claimed he isn't thinking about leaving the club.
And if the Claret and Blue harbour any serious hopes of threatening the 'Big Four' next season then the captain marvel must stay.
Barry must believe the club can fulfil his dreams of challenging the English and European elite and Martin O'Neill is the man who must convince him.
O'Neill faces a tough job as Barry would undoubtedly be tempted by the lure of more money and more chance of trophies.
However, he must realise that he is a kingpin at Villa Park. he is given a favoured position in the centre of midfield. Would he get that at Stamford Bridge or Anfield.

Support

He has the captain's armband and is adored by the fans at Villa Park. Would the Kop or the Shed End take him to their hearts?
And he has the full backing and admiration of his manager. Would Rafa Benitez or Avram Grant show him such moral support.
Barry mustn't let himself get lured into the graveyard of the modern day talented English footballer.
All too often we have seen the likes of Scott Parker and Steve Sidwell fall from grace as they chase more money and more plaudits.
Parker is now at West Ham trying to rebuild his reputation whilst Sidwell is lingering in the Chelsea reserves as the likes of Michael Ballack and Michael Essien take centre stage.
It's a case of look before you leap for Barry and he must keep his focus on the big game this weekend.
Hopefully he will help finish off the Birmingham City rather than thinking of joining another set of Blues.
