Hadji, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since December last year, played in a behind-closed-doors friendly victory over Leicester on Friday and is looking to prove his fitness and convince manager Graham Taylor he is fit enough for a return to first team action.

"It was a good hard game. I've not played for a while so it was great to get through the full ninety minutes," the Moroccan international said after the game with Leicester in which he scored twice in a 4-1 victory.

“I didn't feel the injury at all. I hope to play for the reserves now because I need games. I need to get my fitness back because with just three months of the season left, I want to be given another chance.

"To be injured just four games into my comeback was very disappointing, and it's made me all the more determined to get back in the team as soon as I'm fit. At the moment I'm looking forwards and am very positive about the future."
