Harewood Hits Equaliser

On-loan Villa striker Marlon Harewood netted a crucial goal on his first appearance at St James' Park as Newcastle came back from a goal down to draw with Q.P.R.

Harewood was sent on with less than half an hour to go and the Toon losing 1-0 but he made an immediate impact for the Magpies.

The Holte hero managed to guide the ball past Q.P.R keeper Radek Cerny - who had earlier saved a penalty - just nine minutes after being introduced by Chris Hughton.

The Newcastle boss was left claiming a masterstroke but the plaudits belonged to Harewood, who showed that he does have that goalscorer's touch with an instinctive finish.
