Hendrie threatens to leave

Tubbs has denied press speculation linking Hendrie with a move away from Villa Park but the one-time England international told Sky Sports that he is considering a switch. Wolves and Southampton are both rumoured to hold a torch for the midfielder who has refused to rule out the possibility of signing for either side in the near future. "I spoke to the gaffer and we spoke about certain things," revealed the ever-assured Hendrie. "I've always said, 'I'd love to finish my career at Villa' but looking at it now it's not looking good for me.

"If I'm not playing next season or I'm not going to be involved then maybe I might have to move on. It hurts me to say that but it might be the only route I can go down."
Hendrie may have to drop down to the Championship in order to gain a regular place but admits that the lack of action is particularly frustrating as Villa have been struggling. "We're down to the bare bones again and it's been bit of a rocky time. We've had injuries, which has led to young lads being involved even when I thought I might be involved someone else has come in. It's frustrating," Hendrie continued.
