Houllier denies Baros interest

With Fred and Karim Benzema both long-term absentees, John Carew joined them on the sidelines when he was ruled out for a month-and-a-half last week. Sylvian Wiltord then compounded the concerns by picking up a thigh knock in the 3-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain FC on Sunday. "I hope he [Wiltord] has been substituted at the right time [and the damage has been limited]," said Houllier. Rumours abound that the Ligue 1 leaders are looking to reinforce in January, and with Baros unable to win himself a regular first-team spot under Martin O'Neill, there have been links to a move to France. Houllier has poured cold water on those reports, however. "Baros will not come," he told Agence France-Presse. "I never offer an opportunity to say no two times."
