I'm very proud of my players - O'Leary

The Villa boss felt that the 2-0 scoreline flattered Arsenal somewhat: "Not many teams come to Highbury and can say they deserved something out of the game, but I think we did. I'm very proud of my players," the Villa boss said after the game.

"It doesn't take a genius to work out that Arsenal come out of the traps right at the start. But I thought that we adapted well to the way that I tried to play.

"We gave away a silly goal from a set-piece. JLloyd Samuel is a young lad and they do silly things like that.

"It was a big leg-up to Arsenal as they were bogged down at that stage and we were holding our own. The second goal was also silly, but the game was over by then.

"We've played two of the top teams now and given a good account of ourselves, although we only have one point so far."
