Kinsella back at Charlton?

The Republic of Ireland international, who has not started a Premiership game since the home win against Middlesbrough in December last year, would love to be included in the Villa squad for a game he has been looking forward to since since leaving the Valley for Villa Park.

"I've been waiting for this game since I signed. It's going to be a special day for me," Kinsella told the club's official website.

"I haven't been playing but hopefully, if I can make the bench at least, it would be nice. But I don't want any sentimental favours.

"Obviously the result didn't go our way at Fulham. I've been involved in the last few squads, so there might be a few changes.

"I'm looking forward to it, but it would be nice if I could just make that step from the stand to the bench."

He added: "You've just got to keep plugging away. I was in, then picked up an injury and found myself out. The team won a couple and you can't do anything but wait for your chance.

"So I'll keep training hard. I'm still enjoying it here, it's just the lack of first team football and that's why we're here.

"It's disappointing when you're not playing, because you work your way through the week for the football, and then when it doesn't come, it's hard. But you can't complain if we keep winning and moving on up the table."
