The Swedish defender sustained the injury in the 3-0 win against Newcastle United at the start of last month but is now back in training and has said he wants to make one final appearance before the summer. “I’m just taking it day by day,” the 27-year-old said, jutting his square jaw out a little further than usual as he adopted a manful pose.
“But I have always set my sights on returning before the end of the season or there would be little point in putting in all the hard work.” With this in mind he could make an appearance in Villa's final match of the season at Champions League finalists Liverpool on 15 May.
