Moore future in balance

The 19-year-old’s current deal is due to expire in the summer and although he is currently enjoying his longest sustained spell in the first team, Moore is reportedly concerned about a lack of first team football once more senior players return from injury. With Darius Vassell on the verge of a comeback, the England youth international, who has yet to register a goal this season, is destined to fall back in the pecking order.

Moore has always been a prolific goalscorer for Villa both at youth and reserve team level and has won a great deal of admirers along the way. He has previously stated his wish to remain at the club he supported as a boy, however, manager David O’Leary feels he still has a lot to learn. “He’s progressing nicely but he is not the finished article,” Tubbs told the club’s website, “not by a long way.”
