McCann was shown a straight red-card during the first half of the game at Villa Park for raising his hands to Bolton defender Emerson Thome.

"If he has raised his hands I have no qualms with the referees decision," the Villa boss said.

McCann, who picked up his fifth booking of the season in the first leg last week meaning he misses the league game with Leeds next week, now faces an automatic three game ban for the sending off.
