O'Leary Keen On Defender

The Villa boss is hoping that the £150,000 fee received from Wolves for defender Rob Edwards can go towards bringing the Czech international to the club on a season long loan deal.

“Drobny’s with us for another few days and we’ll assess it at the end. But things are encouraging. I think we need a fourth centre-half and hopefully we can strike a deal on a loan.

“We’ve sold Rob Edwards for £150,000, so hopefully that money can go towards maybe getting him on loan," O'Leary told the clubs official website.

"We’ll have another look at him on Tuesday night.

“We’ve got two fine centre-halves and if they’re fit, they’ll be on their game. We’re trying to bring Ridgewell on and if we can bring another young kid in as well, which we need, it suits us,” he added.
