Alpay was booed by sections of the Villa Park crowd before and during the game against The Addicks at Villa Park, but he had the last laugh by opening the scoring for Villa.

"It was a good goal by him," O'Leary said after the game.

"There was a bit of booing, which surprised me a bit. I don't think that helps anyone. But that's life - he seemed to get on with it.

"I thought Alpay did well to play today. He's had a cold and a touch of flu.

"He was steady for us. I couldn't fault him, although we did concede a silly goal.

"He is always in front of the line at training. He is keen as mustard, everything is 100 miles an hour."
