"I've seen the incident on television and also the Petrov handling. If you give one, you probably have to give the other," he said after the 2-0 home win.

"People have said it was a soft penalty, but if that was the case Petrov's handling ten minutes from time was the same."

The Villa boss was pleased with Chris Sutton's performance but claimed the striker was out on his feet at the end of the game,

"I thought with (Martin) Laursen, (Gavin) McCann and Sutton coming into the side down the middle, we got a bit tired at the end and were on tenterhooks and in the last ten minutes were on the back foot," he added.
