O'Neill: We Lacked A Cutting Edge

"We played some delightful football but lacked a cutting edge. That was all that was missing from our game," the Villa boss said after the 1-1 draw at Villa Park.

"We tried our utmost and I thought we had several good chances to have won the game.

"Obviously we have drawn too many games. We don't set out to do it. A draw away is fine if you can follow up by winning your home games.

"We will be striving to improve the team in January. We do need to strengthen.

"The present owner and chairman wants to sign some new players. He doesn't want Aston Villa to be under-achievers. He really wants to have a go."
