Parks named Villa goalkeeping coach

The former Tottenham keeper has arrived from Norwich, where he had worked since 2014.

Parks worked with Sherwood when he was in charge at Spurs and left following Sherwood's exit from White Hart Lane in May 2014.

The 52-year-old spent six years at Tottenham, training Hugo Lloris, Brad Friedel, Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini, and was goalkeeping coach of the year in 2013.

Former Villa number two Kevin MacDonald returned to the club as assistant manager last week, joining new first-team coach Mark Robson and performance analyst Seamus Brady at Villa Park.

Sherwood lost his first game in charge on Saturday as Villa went down 2-1 at home to Stoke to leave them second bottom of the Barclays Premier League

They go to Newcastle at the weekend having lost their last six league games
