Southampton chairman Ruoert Lowe has reiterated that Villa target James Beattie is not for sale.
Villa boss David O'Leary is a big admirer of the England international centre-forward and Villa have already had one bid for the former Blackburn Rovers forward rejected by the Saints.
"We have made it clear to Villa that James is not for sale and certainly not at £6m," Lowe told the Saints official website.
"He has two years left on his contract, we do not need or want to sell him and he remains a Southampton player.
"The transfer window closes in two weeks' time and that cannot come soon enough for me."
