Dennis Rommedahl, Claus Jensen and Michael Gravgaard scored three goals in seven second-half minutes past a hapless David James as Denmark eased to victory over England in Copenhagen. Thomas Sørensen had little to do in the other goal before Wayne Rooney's late consolation. There was still time for Søren Larsen to restore the three-goal cushion.

Club captain Olof Mellberg, also savoured victory after Henrik Larsson marked his first intetnational since last November with the opener against Czech Republic on 19 minutes. Fester Koller soon equalised from the penalty spot before Ajax striker Markus Rosenberg netted what proved to be the winning goal on 26 minutes.
