South American linked to Villa

The 23-year-old is currently plying his trade with Racing Club in his native Argentina and if reports are to be believed Taylor will move to try to bring the player to Villa Park when the transfer window opens in January.

Bastia, who's present club is managed by former Tottenham players Ossie Ardiles and his ex-Argentina team-mate Ricky Villa, was reportedly interesting former Villa boss John Gregory before he left the club earlier this year.

However, Taylor will have to sell players before he considers making an offer for the tough-tackling midfielder with big earners Alpay, Alan Wright and Steve Stone possible departures from Villa in the new year.
