Taylor back in action

The Villa midfielder is hoping to play a minumum 45-minute spell for Villa's second string against The Reds.

Taylor has been sidelined with a thigh injury sustained in the InterToto Cup defeat against Lille in August.

Taylor told the clubs website: “Hopefully I’m OK now. I haven’t had any further problems since the scan. I feel alright. I’ve trained all last week and yesterday, so fingers crossed that I can get through 45 minutes tonight – I’m just going to play the second-half.”

“We’ve tried to take it steady and not rush me back. It’s been a case of making sure it was right before I came back, because I don’t want it to go again.

“I’ve had a few knock-backs and I just want to get through tonight really. I just want to get back playing football really. I can’t wait to get back into it.”
