Taylor: Playing for revenge!

Villa have twice been in front against United at Villa Park this season but failed to win either match.

They surrendered a 1-0 lead in the Premiership encounter but more famously tossed away a 2-0 advantage during the FA Cup tie between the two teams before going down 3-2.

Taylor said: "We have been 1-0 up in the Premiership and unfortunately Alpay scored an own goal.

"Then we were 2-0 up against them when they made the change by calling up van Nistelrooy.

"I felt that when they increased the tempo everyone appeared to be saying 'they are going to do it. They are going to do it.'

"The thoughts of Villa making it 3-0 went out of the window. We are now going to Old Trafford and we have got to match them.

"We have got to start challenging the likes of Manchester United and in two and half years time we will either have done it or we haven't.

"But if we haven't I will be able to look in the mirror and say 'you gave it a go, Graham.'

"If I didn't think it was possible I wouldn't be having a go at it," the former England boss added.
