Taylor pleased with victory

"I am not being disrespectful to Bolton but it was a different type of Premiership game and harder to sustain your attacks," said the Villa manager.

"You know if you lose the ball in the attacking third, Bolton will play back-to-front and there will not be a lot of play in the midfield area.

"But when you do get an opportunity there, you have got to be prepared to make the most of it. I thought we did that."

Taylor was also sypathetic towards his Bolton counterpart Sam Allardyce, who felt his side were denied a good shout for a penalty with the scores at 1-0.

"It looked like Edwards had tangled with Ricketts. My heart missed a beat and I thought the ref might have given a penalty," said Taylor.
