He told BBC WM: "I think in the formation that [manager Gerard Houllier] likes to play, everyone's playing different positions.
"People might not be happy where they are playing, but the team comes first."
He added: "That's why everyone's playing wherever they're told.
"Maybe the way we're getting the results now, everyone's not moaning, they're just playing where they've been told. And it helps to learn how to play other positions, so we just get on with it."

Agbonlahor's goal at Wigan was his first in the Premier League in an injury-hit season so far.
He said: "I've been trying to get the results, and we got the result. It hasn't been on my mind, but it's nice to get it out of the way."
Villa have achieved back-to-back league wins for the first time this season by beating Manchester City and Wigan, moving them six points clear of the relegation zone.
The immediate danger of a shock relegation seems to have been averted, but Agbonlahor says Villa should not be complacent.
"That's how the table is. Even though we've got the two wins, we're still not safe, other teams are a win away from overtaking you, it's a weird table at the moment.
"We're just going to go into every game now with the same attitude and try to pick up points.
"We're looking up the table. With the two results, we're pleased, but they've gone now, we've got to look at the Cup game [against Blackburn] and Manchester United, and try to get two wins out of those two big games."
