Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish is set to offer Owen Hargreaves a chance to rebuild his Premier League career at Villa Park.

The former England international midfielder has been plagued with injuries ever since leaving Bayern Munich for Manchester United in 2007.He was released from Old Trafford at the end of last season after making just 27 appearances in four years for Sir Alex Ferguson's side. But the 30-year-old insists that his knee problems are now in the past and has recently rejected the overtures of Championship do Leicester City and West Ham in the hope of prolonging a career in the top-flight.

Now, according to the Mirror, McLeish hopes to entice him to the Midlands before the close of the transfer window tomorrow night. The Scot is also looking for a right-back to replace Luke Young who has signed for Queens Park Rangers, with Tottenham's Alan Hutton believed to be at the top of his wanted list for that position.
