Villa need two more to tango

With Scott Carson set to make his way back to Anfield and Tommy Sorensen having been recently released - Villa are eyeing up goalkeeping replacements.
Rumours have already been circulating with stoppers like Carlo Cudicini and Carlos Kameni linked.
But, as any wise fan of the Claret and Blue will know, new signings often come unexpectedly.
When we anticipate new players - like in January when Defoe seemed certain to sign, they very rarely join.
Whether rumoured or not we need a new keeper who can live up to expectation.
Scott Carson was a disappointment after being billed as the next
England number one.
Ironically, it was after he was given the chance to fill the role at Wembley that his confidence shattered. He now looks uncertain and his credentials as a shot stopper are in doubt.

Pressure

Prior to
Carson there was Sorensen who has just been released by the club after spending a prolonged period out of the first team.
Where it took
Carson only a few months to be exposed it took the Dane a season and a half.
During his inaugural campaign Sorensen was stunning and looked as safe as any keeper in the league.
But, like
Carson, he then suffered a crisis of confidence leading to constantly shaky performances.
It seems the pressure of being number one at
Villa Park eventually takes its toll, but that shouldn't be the case.
Keepers such as Brad Friedel and Edwin Van Der Sar have been Premiership stoppers for years and seem to put in countless point-saving performances.
The time has come for Villa to find their own Friedel, their own Van Der Sar.
Good luck Martin!
