Wright on trial at Ibrox

The left-back, who is a free agent after being released by Villa at the end of last season, has flown out with the Scottish Premier League title holders on their pre-season tour to Germany.

"Alan has agreed to come in and train with us with a view to joining the club," Rangers boss Alex McLeish told the club's official website, www.rangers.co.uk

"We need to strengthen the left-back position and we will take a look at Alan in the next few days."
