Good Guys Triumph As Delph Bid Accepted

Villa have agreed a fee thought to be in the region of £7m with Leeds United for England under-21 midfielder Fabian Delph.

The 19 year-old was named Football League Young Player of the Year last season and looks a brilliant prospect.

Delph, who has already made 53 appearances for United, also swept the board at the Elland Road awards ceremony picking up the Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and also Goal of the Season gongs.

The whiz kid has attracted plenty of interest over the last few weeks with Everton and Man City rumoured to be preparing bids.

Money-bags City had looked favourites to sign Delph due to their financial power but according to a Leeds statement, Villa have acted in such a manner that the club are willing to now reject offers from other potential suitors.

Of course, if Mark Hughes was to make a huge bid then they may have to think twice but it now seems the good guys do win sometimes. However, that will only be confirmed if and when Delph signs for the Claret and Blue.
