Shorey set for Villa

Nicky Shorey is on the verge of a move to Villa.
The highly rated Reading left back is set to leave the Madejski Stadium with a £4million offer on the table.
Villa will use Shorey as cover for long term absentee Wilfred Bouma, but he is expected to be more than an able deputy.
The 27 year old won two England caps during the Steve McClaren era and built a good reputation as Reading impressed in the Premier League.
Shorey helped the Royals to an eighth place finish in their first campaign in the top flight.
But Steve Coppell failed to keep them up second time round and his first choice left back quickly attracted interest from other clubs.
Reading haven't exactly been fighting off bids for Shorey, but they recently received an offer for his services.
The bid was quickly rejected but Coppell has admitted that Shorey will leave before the start of the Championship season on Saturday.
The question is whether it will be destination Villa or Pompey for Shorey.
