Agbonlahor Available?

Gabby Agbonlahor faces a race against time in order to be fit in time to play for Villa at The Reebok on Saturday.

The speedy striker picked up a hamstring strain against Everton on April 12 and it was feared that he could miss the rest of the season.

But the England star is making steady progress and he will be aiming to displace Emile Heskey for the big game against Bolton.

Heskey and John Carew formed a good partnership against West Ham last weekend, with the former managing to register on the scoresheet.

Should Agbonlahor be deemed fit for selection it is unlikely that he will start as Martin O'Neill is set to prefer a physical approach against a strong Wanderers side. Heskey and Carew are the ideal option.

But don't be surprised to see Agbonlahor in a starting role for the home game with Hull on May 4.
