Agbonlahor Beats Bent To England Role

Gabby Agbonlahor is back in the international picture after Fabio Capello named the Villa hit man in his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Belarus.

Agbonlahor's club strike partner Emile Heskey was also picked and James Milner completes a trio of Villa call-ups.

There was disappointment for Ashley Young, however, as Capello overlooked the Claret and Blue winger.

But, it is Agbonlahor who grabs the headlines after he has claimed his place in the squad at the expense of in-form Sunderland striker Darren Bent.

The Mackems man looked set to be Capello's main choice to replace the injured Jermain Defoe after scoring at Old Trafford on Saturday, but Agbonlahor's blistering pace looks to have sealed the deal.

The speedy front man will now be looking to build on his superb showing against Germany last November, when England claimed a 2-1 win against their rivals in Berlin.
