Moore caps merry week

The 20-year-old is one of four players in Peter Taylor’s squad, alongside James Milner, Peter Whittingham and Liam Ridgewell, and could make his bow against Austria next Friday at Elland Road. The England party then make the short trip to Sheffield for the encounter with Poland four days later.

The call-up caps a fine week for Moore, who became the first person to score against champions Chelsea this season in Villa’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. In doing so he earned a £10,000 bounty from The Sun which he donated to his former school in Birmingham.
