Emirates legend Olof could help Villa record a win

Olof Mellberg was the first man ever to score at the Emirates Stadium, but Saturday's fixture could be the last time he appears at the ground.
If the Swede returns from injury for the encounter he will hope to add his name to the scoresheet for the second year running. But more importantly, he will hope to aid a Villa victory.
The Claret and Blue have failed to beat the Gunners since 1998 and their task will be as difficult as ever against the table toppers. However, Villa will fancy their chances as Arsenal are currently going through a tough time. They failed to beat Blues last weekend and recently received a hammering at Old Trafford to see their F.A. Cup hopes ripped up.
The North London side may have a midweek trip to Milan on their minds which Villa may be able to exploit. The top six is beckoning for the visitors and they have a squad that is high on confidence with a great away record.
With the imminent return of Mellberg the side will receive a welcome defensive boost against the most feared offensive force in the Premiership if not the world.
That attacking threat may be blunted by the loss of Eduardo who suffered a horrendous leg break in the Midlands last weekend. He will ironically be replaced by former Blues player Nickolas Bendtner.
The hosts will also be without Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue as injury and suspension have taken their toll. However, they may be able to welcome back Abou Diaby who was struck down by the the former problem.
So Mellberg returns to the scene of his triumph last season and with Villa currently known as the set piece kings, you wouldn't back against him scoring at the stadium again. With his move to Juventus looming, the Swede will only get the chance to appear in North London in European competition. He will look to sign off with a win on Saturday.
The Claret and Blue will first hope for a clean sheet from Mellberg and the rest of the back four as they look to topple the table toppers and at least equal the achievement of their bitter Midlands rivals.
