Bouma And Young Back In Contention

Wilfred Bouma and Luke Young made welcome returns to action as Villa reserves claimed a 1-1 draw against local rivals Wolves.

The pair managed to make their way through a full 90 minutes, giving Martin O'Neill a big boost ahead of next weekend's clash with premier league big guns Chelsea.

Kevin MacDonald's second string coped well against a Wolves side which included the likes of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Michael Kightly.

It was winger Kightly, who netted the opening goal on the night as he finished an Ebanks-Blake flick-on.

Villa lifted themselves after going behind and it was a great story for the Gardners - Gary and Craig - as the former set up the latter for a Claret and Blue equaliser.

Gary slotted the ball through the Wolves defence and Craig kept his composure to fire neatly past Marcus Hahnemann.

It was a fairytale goal for the brothers and they will be hoping to repeat their family form in the first team as the season progresses.

As for Young and Bouma, a first team comeback comes ever closer and for the Dutchman in particuar, it has been a long time coming.
