Gary Gardner was the star of the show once again as Villa claimed an FA Youth Cup fourth round spot at the expense of Rochdale.
Gardner, who has been in sparkling form for the Claret and Blue youth all season long, hit a hat-trick to down Dale and Ryan Simmonds also got on the scoresheet.
The Villa youngsters are amongst the favourites for the prestigious competition, which showcases the stars of the future.
Gardner is one of those in the spotlight as he is clearly too good for youth level and has already made the step up to the reserve team this season.
Martin O'Neill will be keeping a keen eye on his lethal young lion and, with Villa having space in their first team for some striking back-up, Gardner could be on the bench sooner rather than later.
