Halfhuid So Nearly The Hero

There was Dutch delight for the Claret and Blue Academy side but the game against Ipswich Town ended on a sour note with the Tractor Boys netting a late equaliser.

Centre-back Arsenio Halfhuid had given the Villa youngsters a 2-1 lead after Town had opened the scoring.

Netherlands born Halfhuid played in an emergency striking role for the majority of the game and he made a great impression on Academy coach Tony McAndrew, with a double strike.

Villa looked set for another well earned win in the Barclays Premier Academy League but were denied by a 93rd minute leveller.

However, the result means that the young Villans maintain their fine unbeaten start to the new campaign.
