Villa Nearly The Invincibles

Villa reserves are one game away from completing a remarkable campaign.

The Claret and Blue second string need to avoid in their final game of the regular season - against Portsmouth - to earn the tag of invincibles.

Kevin MacDonald's side have yet to taste defeat in any of their league games and they added to their fine winning record with a 2-0 stroll against Stoke on Thursday night.

Dominic Hofbauer struck twice on the night as the Villa boys, as they have done so often this season, dominated proceedings.

Villa: Marshall, Roome, Bouma, Clark, O'Halloran, Hogg, Bradley, Reo-Coker, Hofbauer, Harewood, Forrester. Subs (used): Albrighton (for Reo-Coker, 68), Weimann (for Forrester, 53), Collins (for Hofbauer, 76).
