Weimann Wins It For Villa

Andreas Weimann continued his impressive form by netting the winner for Villa reserves at Bishops Stortford

The Austian striker took control of a flick on from strike partner James Collins and beat West Ham stopper Marek Stech at the second time of asking.

The 33rd minute effort from Weimann proved to be the decisive moment in a game, which saw winger Marc Albrighton hit the upright twice in the space of one first half minute.

The win for in-form Villa means that they remain two points clear of Arsenal in the race for the Reserve League South title.

The Claret and Blue also have two games in hand over their rivals and look a good bet to secure a third straight league success.

Villa line-up: Marshall; O'Halloran, Clark, Davies, Hogg; Albrighton, Salifou, Osbourne, Hofbauer; Collins, Weimann. Subs: Forrester, Bevan (for Marshall), Carruthers, Deeney.
