Poyser Pops Up To Restore Parity

Kofi Poyser saved the day for Villa's academy side in their Youth Cup semi-final first-leg against Newcastle.

The teenage hitman popped up to net with a bullet header in the second half of the big match at Villa Park.

And his goal could prove crucial as Newcastle threatened to claim a massive psychological boost when Phil Airey netted before the break.

But, as it is Villa still retain hope of oveturning the Toon on Tyneside and claiming a place in the showpiece.

Villa line-up: Siegrist, Berry, Deeney, Devine, Williams, Blythe, Lampkin, Carruthers, Poyser, Simmonds, Roberts. Substitutes: Taylor (for Lampkin 72), Nelson-Addy (for Carruthers 76), Cameron (for Poyser 85).
