Villa academy suffered FA Youth Cup heartbreak after conceding two second half goals against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Tony McAndrew's youngsters went into the cup final second leg level at 1-1 and they took a an aggregate lead thanks to Kofi Poyser who converted from a Ryan Simmonds centre.

Villa looked in good shape to claim the silverware with Benjamin Siegrist impressing between the sticks once again.

But Chelsea, who had a littany of fledgling foreign aces in their side shone after the interval and levelled things up through Marko Mitrovic.

And they secured the silverware with a goal worthy of winning any game as captain Connor Clifford rifled in a 25-yard effort past the helpless Siegrist.

The defeat for Villa's youth team comes hot on the heels of a penalty shootout reverse for the reserves, who lost in Barclays Premier Reserve League final against Manchester United.

But both sides can be proud of their efforts and they continue to represent their club in the most impressive of manners.
